Job Title: Hydraulic Bench Mechanic Job Description

This role focuses on installing, repairing, and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems and components on a hydraulic test bench and in the field. You will support system modifications, prepare detailed service documentation, and collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to ensure high-quality, timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on moderate to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components and systems.
• Carry out system and machine modifications at job sites when required, including material fabrication, assembly, and equipment modification on assigned projects.
• Prepare detailed service reports using Microsoft Office and/or ERP software, accurately documenting materials used, hours worked, travel expenses, and other project-related information.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and sub-contractors to coordinate work and resolve technical issues.
• Work overtime as needed to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to required quality standards.
• Perform service repairs and related projects in the field when necessary, adapting to varying customer locations and conditions.
• Complete all assigned job-related training classes to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills.
• Perform other essential and related duties as assigned to support the overall operation and service function.

Essential Skills

• 1–5 years of mechanic experience preferred, including service work on hydraulic and electronic products and systems.
• Thorough working knowledge of hydraulic components, with familiarity with Bosch Rexroth components preferred.
• Ability to interpret and analyze electro-hydraulic schematics.
• Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuitry.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Competent computer skills, including the ability to work with Microsoft Office and various applications.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey plans and technical details to internal and external customers.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and potentially stressful situations for extended periods of time.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulic systems, valves, and related components.
• Background in mechanical assembly, repair, and maintenance technician work.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulic power units.
• Familiarity with ERP software for documenting service work and project data.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development.

Work Environment

This position is based in a very clean, temperature-controlled, modern facility. Work is performed primarily on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed to support project demands. The environment is equipped with contemporary tools, test benches, and computer systems to support hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic diagnostics and repairs, offering a comfortable and organized setting for technical work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bensalem, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
